In 2017, CPI has found 179 countries were indexed on a scale of 0 to 100 with 100 meaning that there is no corruption at all.

Africa has produced 18 of the 30 most corrupt nations in the world, followed by Asia and South America. Aside from corruption, the top most corrupted countries have insecurity issues. Mostly majority of those countries are developing countries.
Corruption has led to economic turmoil, poverty and sometimes, conflict.The ruling parties do corruption with the power of owning a state. This causes threats to citizens too.
There are some countries like Somalia, South Sudan, North Korea and Syria which is the most corrupt countries on the planet. According to Transparency International’s latest annual review that attracts a mix of company and government sources for its positions. Somalia is the only most corrupt country which stands in the list for about 10 years.
Countries with a lower score are said to be more corrupt. The report said corruption occurs by impunity for corruption, poor governance, and weak institutions. The second from the bottom is South Sudan, a comparatively a new country. Countries in the Middle East world has suffered the worst declines on the corruption index.
