We know that corruption is spreading everywhere like air. Corruption includes bribery, theft, fraud, embezzlement, blackmail, etc., Corruption happens everywhere, Public sectors, Private sectors even in NGO’s. Mostly corruption taking place in Political, Election, Police, Government Offices, Educational system, In private sectors to win the business and much more. From common peon to higher officials are being the part of Corruption chain.
On 8th April 2017, In Rajya Shaba debate PM Modi has said that the war against corruption will continue to empower poor and the honest. Also On 6th April 2017, the interaction with some youths PM Narendra Modi has happened. While PM has said that, “If everyone in the country is taking the initiative to work with honesty, then the nation will move 125 crore steps forward towards the development can happen in these 5 years”.
Lot more Anti-corruption Acts and rules are the presence to control corruption. As an example, we could see the notice of Controller General of Accounts (CGA) which was an effect from 1st April 2012, all the payments above 25000/- Rupees has to credit to the bank directly accounts for Suppliers, Contractors, loanee institutions. This is to curb the corruption in government offices at the time of payment to providers, Contractors.
Even after these many Rules, Acts, Reform initiatives, Leaders advice the most regretful information is India is the 9th most Corruption nation in India. A recent survey by EY has given that, “the general psychologies of Indian youths are ready to pay the bribe to succeed in their business”. The survey has taken around 41 countries in the world, where followed by Ukraine, Cyprus, Greece, Slovenia, Croatia, Kenya, South Africa and Hungary. India placed as 9th most corruption nation. In 2015 India placed 6th position, after the transparency emphasis and regulatory follow-ups it is quite better.
However, the most sorrowful report is with the tomorrow’s leaders, i.e., Youngsters are mostly accepting and encouraging this unethical behavior. Especially Y generation (The people born between 1980s-1990s) are being the most cause for this concern.
73% of youth feels that wrong action helps to their business survive. Nearly 41% of Indian respondents act unethically to enhance their carriers. 13% people proving false information to improve their Carrier/Pay. Globally, 1 out of 5(i.e., 20%) said that they would act unethically for their carrier.
Besides, one of the past reports gives that, in 2013, India was ranked 94th out of 177 countries. And in 2014, it was climbed 9 places in corruption index and placed 85th out of 175 countries. We could see the gradual increment in the wrong side which can destroy the Indian democracy. These unethical behaviors should be abolished. Otherwise, it will be the obstacle to India’s growth also It will destroy the democracy like termite eating.
